Reading

There are several books found around our house. We are BIG fans of the public library.

Currently stacked on Ashley's Bedside Table:

So Long Insecurity, You've Been a Bad Friend to Us by Beth Moore

I love Beth Moore's steady encouragement to pursue a life of freedom in Christ!

Diaper Changes by Theresa Rodriguez Farrisi
James and I are learning all about the new and exciting world of cloth diapering. Who knew there were so many options for diapers?

On Becoming Babywise by Gary Ezzo
This book sounds great in theory, but I question the actual practice. I recently found out it is not endorsed by the AAP, in fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics warns against such practices. I have been researching implications, click here for more information.

Baby Bargains by Denise and Alan Fields
I have really enjoyed this book and I am very much hoping it saves us money. When we found out we were expecting, we quickly began to realize there were many things we would need. I think new parents are often suckers for all kinds of "necessary gear." We're trying to avoid acquiring too much unnecessary stuff.

Nursery Style by Serena Dugan and Lily Kanter
I love these sweet nursery designs. We are busy trying to create a space for our baby boy to rest soundly.

James doesn't like to read in bed. He keeps his books neatly on the bookshelf.  Something about sleep hygiene... His current reads include:

The ICU Book by Paul L. Marino
James is keeping fresh on his ICU knowledge since he's managing patients in the ICU this month.

Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes
Interesting reading. James will have to share more about it.

Past Reads:

Domino: The Book of Decorating by Deborah Needleman, Sara Ruffin Costello, Dara Caponigro
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the beautiful images in this book. It inspires me to make a beautiful home!

In Defense of Food by Micheal Pollan
This book completely altered my way of thinking about food.

Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon
So many wonderful recipes. However, many recipes remind me of science experiments...I have to be brave not only in food preparation, but also willing to eat my creations. So far, so good!

All-time Favorites:
The Bible
God's Word, Truth, the same today, yesterday and forever.

The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
Harry, Ron, and Hermione kept me company when we first moved to Indy.

The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis
These books stir our hearts and remind us of the greatness we are called to as children of the King.
